It’s been an exciting 2 weeks traveling the circuit statewide with the Washington State Funeral Directors’ Association for their spring meetings. I was able to present what we do at Lasting Eulogies all across our beautiful State of Washington. I’ve met some really amazing people. As a whole, I’ve found the professionals in this industry to be incredibly kind and compassionate as well as a lot of fun to spend time with!
I learned that the service of custom written eulogies is actually pretty new to the death care industry. Many of the professionals I met hadn’t heard of it. This was such valuable information. It will really direct my efforts as I move forward.
Did you know professional eulogy writers can help you write your loved one’s eulogy?
What is the Washington State Funeral Director’s Association?

As the professional association for funeral providers in Washington State, the WSFDA is solely focused on one primary goal - fulfilling the needs of its members. This spring’s meeting included an opportunity for some continuing education, a legistlative overview and update as well as information from a representative from Donate Life. The mission of Donate Life is to increase the number of donated organs, eyes and tissues available to save and heal lives, while developing a culture where donation is embraced as a fundamental human responsibility. April is National Donate Life Month and we had fun getting photos of our group to flood social media with #donatelife this month to help the cause!

The Assocation also welcomed speakers from End of Life Washington. We were able to hear different representatives from the organization speak in each region that we traveled to. End of Life Washington upholds your right to the full range of end of life choices, including Death with Dignity (now known as medical aid in dying) through advocacy, education, and support.
This was interesting and all new information to me. I’ve included the Act below in case it’s new to you, too.
The Washington Death With Dignity Act
The Washington Death With Dignity Act allows terminally ill adults to request a prescription for life-ending medication from physicians. Patients must be Washington State residents, have less than six months to live, be capable of making an informed decision, and have the ability to self-administer the prescribed medication.
This was my first business trip with Lasting Eulogies and the bar is now set high! I can’t think of a better group of professionals to have jumped in the deep end of the pool to. They were a super audience to a girl that hasn’t presented or socialized this much since before the pandemic! Everyone was incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable and so willing to share information and contacts with me.
Feeling energized and excited to keep moving forward, learning and sharing what we do. Looking forward to the convention in 2024!
